The fight to prevent President Donald Trump from being re-elected for a second term is now bleeding into the Republican Party.
And one of Trump’s biggest Republican foes is front-and-center.
As first reported by CBS affiliate KUTV (Salt Lake City), a lobbying firm recently broadcast a speculative list of potential cabinet members for presidential candidate Joe Biden.
And Romney was listed as a potential Biden selection to be SECRETARY OF STATE!
The firm, Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, released 15 pages of predictions should Biden win the presidency this November.
Under the section "possible cabinet members," Romney is listed under the secretary of state position, with the following description:
“Romney, a member of the Republican Party, serves as the junior senator for Utah. In 2012, he was the Republican presidential nominee, but he was ultimately defeated by President Barack Obama. After receiving a law degree and master of business administration from Harvard University, Romney founded Bain Capital, served on the board of directors for Marriott International and as governor of Massachusetts. He also served as CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee of the Olympic Winter Games in 2002.”
This isn’t the first time Romney’s name has been floated for the role. In fact, back in 2016, Trump actually considered nominating Romney for the position.
Could this be the beginning of Biden trying to tout high-profile Republicans for his cabinet?
We will continue to keep an eye on his potential cabinet.
